  1. shipping for 3p would be about 50p or so.
  2. over charge on the shipping and you make a profit that's why. (this was a response to the question of why people sell 5p's for 5p)
  3. one day Chris, one day i might get round to writing a book on sixpences. Oh in about 10 years when i've really studied the field in depth.
  4. i have to admit that i hate the way Spinks just list... coin A... Many varities Unfortunately i collect by variety and i actually want to know what these varities are! And why don't they list all the known moneyors on the hammered coins, and have pictures of all the classes? If you don't then you'll not be able to identify your coin unless you knew what it was when you bought it, so i think Spinks is pretty useless in the Edward I penny department.
  5. I always like Queen Mary I, probably the least attractive queen we've had, but for anyone studying history and all the ambiguity going on in the period it's great to come across a Queen that knows her mind and makes it clear. Can't go wrong really, good old Mary!
  6. but i still prefer William IV coinage to that of Victoria.
  7. my favourite was always the jubilee head, with the gothic in second, the bun in third, the young in fourth... and what ever's left last.
  8. Would it not make more sense to put the stages in chronological order? (it appears he's buying coins from each stage in no particular order)
  9. I'd say separate, but as an early milled fan i would say that wouldn't i? But i agree with Oli there is enough on at the minute with the later book, but then again it just goes to show modern milled always remains the most popular of the two... honestly you people you haven't lived until you'd tried the earlier stuff!
  10. Well i would have offered to help myself, but since my sixpence fetish stops suddenly at 1758 and i refuse to go beyond that point, and the only modern milled coin that's held my fascination for any length of time is the Victorian Shield reverse Sovereign, it looks like i'm not much use to you. Why is there no book for coins 1662-1813? I think it's about time there was a specialist book just concentrating on Early Milled. If you ever do an early milled book, you know where to come for the sixpences.
  11. right explain all that to me agin, cos i've been without an internet connection properly, since the end of April.
  12. I like £2 coins, the normal reverse. Gotta love the Britannia 50s, and the 20p. Kinda like 10ps, they are a nice size. I really like pennies 1971-1984. I really, really, really, really....(to the power of 657.8), hate 5ps, i wish they'd demonetise them. I stipulate against taking them, prefering 3 copper coins instead.
  13. All seven James II sixpences in EF. No seriously guys these things just don't turn up.
  14. Well i wouldn't pay extra for a lower grade 'celebrity' coin, i'd rather have the less well known BU one.
  15. You said the magic word! I'd say now that at least 4/5ths of my collection is sixpences, with more to come. I just like the size, interesting how i kinda like Dimes too, you think? William III ones are good! You do know that the two reigns before are particulary difficult. I still haven't managed to get any James II's... Still only 7 of James' to get... By the way i've been collecting on and off for 14 or 15 years, got serious in 2000, and specialised in 2002. (Only took me 12 years to specialise then)
  16. mine was a really common and battered 1816 large cent.
  17. Ha Early Milled my speciality. Just bought a 1732RP 6d upgrade and an about average 1703 Vigo 6d. Ah a good haul yesterday. (ow and a 1573 sixpence!!!) Another monarch to scratch from the list.
  18. Mercury dimes and Washington quarters. I like $20 Libs too.
  19. ah but have you actually clicked the suggested link that google gave you on that french one?
  20. You mean they are MS67s! I trhink he'd like the Sheldon grading system.
