  1. I guess like many others whilst wandering around I find interest in other items, I've bought items to sell on and fund the military Medals & Coins. to be honest I inevitably keep said items, Sunday 05/01/25 was a poor turn out and I was miffed to have wade through a pile of old items "one last stop before charity shop donation" box. fortunately one dealer is chaotic, random, and can be described as the most uncommitted coin dealer of all sorts, I went through 3 boxes of coins all different ages, countries & beaten up, I hate to think how many others have gone through and your just dealing with the left overs, on another note its impossible to know how he works out how much the coin may be worth... its a buyers luck if you come away with a bargain.... none of your nicely organised books of coin holders here!!!! Any ways, I like this dealer!?!??!?! and can chat and happy with my lot that i found in one of the boxes of "coins from hell and back" its a letter Seal (made of steel) i do like it, it looks like it would have been for a watch chain, Coat of Arms to be advised..... £15 was talked down to £10.. all in all a nice piece of cool Junk! Many thanks "H"
  2. Hello Rob Many thanks you for your input, theres no way after hours looking would i have it correct, .... learning more about coins from this day onwards oh and im sure Groats are amongst ones to follow, once again many thanks "H"
  3. Hello Tom, and many thanks, its more now than I could read or understand the coin to have been so how the heck anyone else could do is amazing, I have read earlier this week that they were made in Calais (at the time of things) its been a great help and thank you. Rgds "H" 👍 Ive also read........ Calais mint. In case you're wondering what right England had in minting coins from Calais, the answer is that England owned Calais from the reign of Edward III until Mary's reign in 1558.... so the coin may date 13 November 1312 - 21 June 1377 ?
  4. managed to achieve two coins today, Again its possibly before i can remember so maybe picked up in 1992, smaller than 20p bits are missing and couldn't even guess how old it must be. please offer all related information as I need to keep a catalogue these coins are, so when I pass them on in the family its the least I should do. Many Thanks for this, all the very best "H"
  5. Hello and once again thank you for adding me to the forum. Ive had coins for over 38 years and its been a mixture of well its old so of interest and give it to him to keep him quiet. a hoard was given from my mother that were her fathers, all very old, worn and even some were drilled. I took the worn out ones and had them appraised by local coin experts, sadly just scrap value, it was a hard day choice but sold off them and bought a sovereign coin, time moves of and i then added Guineas, these will be a show and tell later on. I hope this is for interest for today. I will show the 1 Scudo, I had no idea of when or how much.. it wouldn't have been that much in them days i do remember it was before computers so 1992 ish Sanctvs . Marc . Venet 1624-1629
  6. Hello, New to the forum, Ive been interested in a multitude of items over many years and now I have time on my hands so need to play catch up as time is catching up on me as well.
