  1. If you put coins in and get vouchers out, how did you get the listed coins?
  2. "With no precise record of the number minted, and with the coin having been struck to ordinary circulation standard, it is entirely possible that one might turn up in everyday use." One wonders what the "everyday use" of a predecimal penny might be, let alone one dated 1933..
  3. Yeah, but it may turn out to be as anti-climactic as the 1961 halfcrown "E.F. missing" turned out to be.
  4. Interesting, definitely. But I'd also say that 10º is unremarkable.

  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233803718907 North south east west Is my photography the best?
  7. Personally, I think repunched legends and dates of early buns are of purely academic interest. Those particular ones (the R and I) are almost undetectable anyway.
  8. Hear, hear indeed. Of course, now we've left the EU, we're free.. to do absolutely phukk all about Ukrainian refugees.
  9. Normally, Firefox has a device (via the three dots in the address bar) to take a screenshot, then asks if you want "Visible", or "Whole page" i.e. the bits you normally have to scroll down for. Unfortunately, these documents have been set up in such a way that you can't do that. The other option is to see if it offers download to pdf. I haven't looked yet...
  10. Do you mean double struck?
  11. No meaningful pictures. Oops about the date of the crown!
  12. The problem with that is - as I've said - that there are PL examples of other denominations and dates (I can't remember exactly, but I do have a halfcrown and sixpence from the 50s, one I'm sure is 1955). If all those are polished dies then you'd have to ask why. On the other hand, perhaps 1961 is a special case given the PL crowns struck in New York (Expo?).
  13. "Know what that Chisholm said? He said 'I know how Arthur Daley will die. He'll fall off the back of a lorry'. Bit strong. Definitely out of order..."
  14. not quite with you, old chap?
  15. Yes - begun with FMP4, then developed further in FMP6 and FMP10 (my current version). This is an example of how one coin appears in 4 of the many layouts I've evolved!
  16. I use FileMaker Pro. I wouldn't be without it - I can record all the details I want about particular coins including pictures, plus the all-important facts about cost, where I got it from, date of purchase, any previous provenance, Spink values, varieties, distinguishing features, etc etc.
  17. Duplicate? You willing to sell? It's much better than my own example.
  18. The 1926 varieties : you need to say whether these relate to the ME or earlier effigy. The 1961 varieties : the disappearance of EF and CT are purely due to die fill; people were once excited about them and they appeared in lists as varieties, but I'd say they haven't been listed for decades as people stopped regarding them as anything but gradually filling dies and therefore nothing to get excited about. The polished blank (not die IMO) is more interesting, but not so well known is that there are several CuNi strikes after 1953 that are on polished blanks. I can't remember the dates offhand but I have one halfcrown and one 6d - both 50s - that are definitely on polished blanks. My theory is that they produced way too many for 1953 proofs and slowly used them up.
  19. How many examples of Type 3 have you seen? If only one, I'd wait for more examples before getting excited.
  20. Useful list. My only comment is in relation to the variety descriptors. For example, with the 1921 shillings it would help enormously if you added which obverse type the pointings relate to, i.e. is it the obverse used from 1911 to 1920, or the one used from 1920 to 1926? I.e., that's your main variety difference, then within them you have micro varieties. (And this might also apply to other years where there are both main and micro varieties).
  21. The thing which made her look so stupid, is that she didn't even have the nous to play dumb or be diplomatic.. such as asking a very obvious question like "Why are you asking that?"
  22. Apparently Liz Truss was asked "Did we recognise Russian soveriegnty over two regions?" She replied "We will never recognise it". Then had to be discreetly told by an ambassador that the regions in question are in fact Russian. And to think she may yet be PM - God help us!
