Came for numismatics. Stayed for the people. All's well here, but we had some bush fires nearby. Property lost, but no lives thankfully. Tomorrow's max temp will be below 30 deg C for the first time in a long time.

Someone here invoked me I believe.
  4. Grave digging gives me the opportunity to have many people under me.
  5. I've decided to become a grave digger. That way, when I die there will be someone to bury me.
  6. I once worked in admin but had a nervous breakdown.
  7. By the way, this really is my job. It wasn't supposed to be a joke. I really am a parasite living on welfare and my wife's income.
  8. Better than climbing the corporate ladder.
  9. I'm a bona fide barnacle clinging to the crusty hull of a welfare society, taking a free ride but with no control.
  10. Some relaxing Saturday music dedicated to all the Dads out there.
  11. Yes. We must take care of Verdi. Anyone capable of writing this is worthy of respect.
  12. All sorted, thanks. They finally responded with a tracking number. The coin left France on 15 October, so shouldn't be too far away. Case closed.
  13. I think there's something in that for all of us.
  14. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm in Australia and they're in France. Would be an expensive call even if the phone were answered by someone who could speak English.
  15. On 10 October I won an auction being conducted by the Parisian auction house, iNumis. I made payment on 11 October and since then have sent two emails asking for acknowledgement of payment and shipping information. I've not yet received a response. Has anyone dealt with them before? If so, are they trustworthy. If not, should I be worried by their lack of communication? It's actually making me sick in the stomach as the amount involved isn't trivial.
  16. Have you tried using a different browser?
  17. I was fully aware of the buyer's premium, but $50 USD for postage and $10 USD for insurance was covered by some phrase to the effect of "postage may be higher for international destinations". For heaven's sake! The coin only weighs three grams! $35 USD wire charge? Hmm. I could ask them to consider using a more economical postal service, but don't like my chances. I'll certainly be challenging the wire charge, though.
