  5. i have an 18?? penny, and my problem is the '??' bit...the coin is very dark, and quite worn...is there any way to find out what the '??' bit is without damaging the coin? it is definatly after 1860, and before 1895!
  6. i dont like westminster myself, but it was either buy a £5 coin from the royal mint for £7.55, or buy the £5 coin from westminster collection for £9.99 and get a set of George III reproduction coins...
  7. the marks from the brooch is unfortunate... my favourite coins are: (in order) Edward VII Coronation Crown 1907 Edward VII shiling with some lustre 1914 Silver Threepence with some lustre Rhodisian Half Crown EF. 1941 unc. 2p coins 1993 - 2003 1797 cartwheel penny

  9. i bought the 18th century of the monarchy £5 coin from westminster coins, and they included a free set of reproduction george III coins, but they are not stamped or engraved with any un-normal marks, they look perfectly real infact!

What is your best buy? profitable or favourible? my best buy was a whitman folder for florins 1941 - 1967, it had these coins with it; 1941,42,45-57,59-67...all uncirculated...bought for £10.49 from ebay...and according to my British Coins Market Values 2004, they are all together worth around £160
  12. i do not collect them, but go with the old ones. it is pointless to collect the newer ones because there are so many made...

  14. ten shillings: J.S. Fforde one pound: D.H.F.S------- V i am not sure about the pound note, but it is definately D.H.F. somethingV and yes, they are both QEII...
  15. i dont really want a book about notes, just a value...they are both unc. notes... the pound note is labled AN79 492923 the ten shillings note is labled C24N 44I935
  16. i have 2 irish 50p's from 1988, the coin sais dublin 988 - 1988 ,and they are both in EF condition...what is its value? i also have the millennium irish punt from (obviously) 2000, it is in EF condition...what is its value? an answer would be nice:)

  18. How does paper money get valued? is there a website with a valuation table? i am not a collector of banknotes, but i own a ten shilling note and a 1 pound note from queen elizabeth II, and i want a rough estimation of their value...could someone help...thanks...

  21. the best place too look for coins is in your garden...i found a george III cartwheel penny in my garden with a metal detector...there is nothing ilegal about that because it is Your own land:)
