  1. Ah, i get it now ...but i cant really see any kind of greenish on my farthings...
  2. (Comparing to my own farthings) You should find that the early Victorian Bronze (1860-1880), and the 'non-darkened' George V (1918-1936) Farthings are gold in colour with a brilliant shine to them. The latter Victorian (1881-1895), and the Wren design (1937-1956) Farthings have a bright copper colour with a sharper strike. I am not sure what you mean by greenish though?
  3. Yep, i agree with that, im all for conservative
  4. Just wondering what online games people play. I play Ferion sometimes, as Combustion_Reloaded
  5. Ooh, a tough one there... I actually agree with Mr.Blair about the fact that a war on Iraq was nessesary. If war was not decided then Sadam Hussain would still be in power. When Sadam was in power, the Iraqi public had no choice but Iraq victory, e.g. Iraqi sportsmen/women were killed if they did not win gold in the olympics! The situation after the war has been horrendus though, suicide bombs, car bombs, threats on the general Iraqi public, the horrific slaughter of innocent foreign people. But then again, what is it that these terrorists want, Sadam or their own power over Iraq? I still agree with Mr. Blair on certain aspects of the war effort.
  6. I doubt thats the reason, old men need time to think
  7. A wire...it is probably attached to a microphone or a headpiece so he can hear the audience...not nessesarily used to 'cheat' debates
  8. Its a token i believe
  9. How much do you agree with politics?... Just thought i would start this one for the pure benefit of a debate
  10. same with me...but we speak Slough (if 'Slough' counts as an accent), all 'init''s (isn't it)and juno wa'mean (Do you know what i mean)...amazes me sometimes
  11. i meant as good as new with the lustre... ...never mind
  12. I didn't say restoring the detail, i said
  13. Londoners are the worst in my opinion, they sound very thick...and if you think of all the intelegent people of london, they sound all upper class and posh
  14. I did a little test you see on a Fine, or Almost VF at best, 1965 penny...i used some bronze cleaner used for antiques and left it in a capsual...now the coin looks as good as new with the same amount of same coloured luster as my other BU pennies... It probably depends on the cleaning method
  15. You obviously mean cleaned hammered coins, or coins that have had their dirt removed...you would not like a coin that has been highly cleaned from Fine to BU!
  16. History, Physics and Chemistry... It used to be just Physics and Chemistry, but when i started to collect coins i seemed to like history far more
  17. Yes, the cartwheel twopence does exist...it is only for 1797 but with a lot of very expencieve proofs...i would stick to silver if i were you
  18. I have a few coins like that, and i have always thought them to be Israilian (even though i doubt it) or (as chris said) Burmese...My coins that are like that are like British 20p's and 50p's, they all have that man in glasses on the obverse no matter what the date is... i can not say what it definately is though...Kulhi will probably know...
  19. any time between now and january really...mostly will be out by between end of November and end of December i think
  20. its now on £5.50, what do you recon i should put in for it when it gets to the final few minutes?
  21. I'd wait though, the new additions of most of the annual coin books will be comming out soon
  22. Not an expert, but...i think that alot of German tokens like this got around in 1914, 'Souvenir de' is French... Wepkin...hmm...not a French or a German word, might be a region somewhere(?) (1300th post...wow i'm getting old )
  23. Here 1672 Farthing - It looks brilliant, but the reverse looks somewhat cleaned, what do you think?
  24. Well they always said i was old fashioned so in 60 years when i'm a decrepid old man, the coins will still be in the cabinet! Maybe different coins and a different cabinet, but it'll still be the same old story. Agreed...a cabinet is one's esential accessory for a coin collector...
