  1. "Queen on back etc..." "Silver in colour"...sounds worrying to me
  2. And another one ...page 87, The Tenpence (continued): on previous page it is Ten Pence (a space is required between Ten and Pence
  3. Another typo ...page 7, 1856 P1603 mintage figure: 913,9200. I think, for its high value, that you have put one too many 0's on the end
  4. They are all very nice...one thing, the 1901 picture is not working
  5. Those scratches look suspicious. If you notice, there are at least five or six quite visable scratches on the blank side, whereas there are none that i can see on the reverse. If that coin was to have been purpously rubbed down to its blank, a few scratches would occur when not done with accuracy. But I cannot say whether it is real or not...it looks convincing.
  6. Yep, merry christmas all. It has been a very fun year
  7. I prefer your King Henry III Long Cross penny out of them three
  8. One of the reasons why i will hopefully not go any further back than 1613 with my collection Edit: Oh, and welcome Millimoo
  9. The london coin show is quite good (from what i have read). I know that Chris and HPJ attend, and I will hopefully be going also whenever the next one is.
  10. How far do you plan to go back?
  11. Yes, hello again william
  12. I'm hoping to find some BU 1925-29 farthings as this is the largest gap in my 1918-1956 farthing set so far. After that i also hope to expand on George II farthings...i have seen how cheap they can be after getting a quite lusterous 1758/7 sixpence from ebay for a mere £10. It is the 1750's that i hope to have completed by the end of next year. As for more things, I will probably find my self within the expencive Victorian bronze series, which is my favourite set of farthings so i do not wish to rush getting through them.
  13. Thats a lot of books sold so far. Maybe WHS will finally appreciate the books
  14. Thats quite a nice 1887 Half Sovereign. Its a pitty that the 1871 Sovereign is slabbed though, i am sure that that is nice for its price
  15. And the government is trying to modernise britain with these newer styles of architecture. But who exactly are they modernising it for? I agree that older architecture was far better, as with old coinage
  16. You'll get there eventually
  17. I finally have found a 2004 £1 in my change, it has the forth bridge on the reverse
  18. Not that its the same date, but does it look anything like this: ?
  19. Very nice ...Linkypoo !
  20. What is your favourite christmas song? --- I would say that i have three near favourites (in no particular order): Lonely This Christmas - Mud Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt ...but my favourite has to be: A Fairytale Of New York - The Porgues Feet and Kirstl MacColl
  21. hmm...oh well --- I still dont like it...
  22. *eww...eww...eww...* To put it fairly ...as with Sylvester, i'm also censoring my comments Looks too much like a token to me, i prefer coins with writing in the legend (or atleast with a legend)
  23. Tricky, lets see: ____£1 10/-____ 7/- 9, 1/2 1/- 2, 3/4 3/- 6, 1/2 2/- 8___ 3/- 3, 1/4 ___11__ 2/-_____ 2/- 1, 1/4 = £1, 4/-, 3, 1/4d Spent Which leaves...um...um...um...hmm...5/-, 8, 3/4d (maybe!?) Um... Which is: 1 Crown 1 Sixpence 2 Pennies 1 Halfpenny 1 Farthing !? ...um...6 coins left over?
  24. Well, the Royal Mint's website gives mintage figures (Here)
  25. I have never seen a 1988 pound coin yet, it is anoying me that this is the only gap in my £ collection
