  9. Broken set coins sell for more than they should as there is more interest in single coins rather than the entire set.
  10. I have this 1971 penny that seems to have been struck more bold than other 1971 pennies of the same grade... Normal 1971 Penny Bold Strike 1971 Penny Why would this be?

  15. Do you have any other farthings between 1898 and 1917? If you do, hold it up to your darker 1918 one. You may notice that the 1918 farthing just has normal toning, the darkened farthings are generally quite darker than normally toned farthings...
  16. Well, what are all the types?
  17. I have just been flicking through the pages on the Dr. Nicholson Collection, and i came to 1957 where it says "(For the super-specialist who is aware that there are four sub-varieties for the Calm Sea variety, this one has a Pointed 7 pointing directly at a bead, which is the commonest of the four sub-varieties.)". A while back, I was given a tin which was (and still is) full of 1957 and 1958 halfpennies... I was wondering what these 'four sub-varieties' are, and what their rarities are...
  18. I might want it, but i am not 100% sure if i am going to it yet...
  19. Maybe it is just a normal 1937 then
  20. I have 1950 and 1951 proof farthings. The toning on this 1937 one is roughly the same as that on the 1950 and '51 i have...
  21. Oops, i forgot that bit...it was Chris who sold it to me
  22. Quite a while back, I bought a 1937 farthing described as 'ABU'. Since then i have started to notice that it is starting to tone like that of a proof coin. I am now quite sure that this is a proof coin, but how can I be definate?
