  1. It is similar to the 1933 'model penny', maybe this was for tests?
  2. Do you know the technical term for a Bastard Master JMD, to give you a clue, Queen Elizabeth I was one.
  3. I had to answer a question on groats, shillings, and florins as part oif my maths mock exam. I got all the marks for that section!
  4. I think it is about £2.10 for a 'all London zones' one day travelcard.
  5. Brentwood Bus fares are generally expensive, on average it is £1.50 for a return and £0.90 for a one way ticket.
  6. I can understand your duslike for children. Some of them are just complete bast**ds, some of them are ok though (like us).
  7. I voted for Never! because if you separate different religious groups, they are educated in a very narrow way in accordance with their religion. Which will mean that they will have a very narrow outlook on life. The U.K is now well and truly a mulit-cultural society and we therefore need to intergrate schooling if we hope to equally appreciate eachother.
  8. When I ask my fellow pupils what job they think that they will end up in, most of them say some sort of manual labour, or going to college. I think they all care about their future. It is just a case of some more than others. I hope to become a barrister, and I will therefore have to work exceedingly hard. If you wanna do it, do it!
  9. My broadband is playing up, the first time I double posted, it took a long time to process the post so I just clicked 'back' and 'post' on both occasions!
  10. It is not at all that severe at my school. I like to compare it to the 'crabs in the bucket' story. If a crab trys to escape the bucket, another crab will always pull him back and cut off one of his legs every time he trys to escape. Basically, if you suceed in a comp then people will always try to bring you down to their level and stop you from suceeding.
  11. The number of days in July is always 31, I think you are thinking of February Master JMD.
  12. Grammer schools are right for some people but at the end of the day, it is you and only you who can determine how sucessful you are. I can understand some people's concerns about public schools and I can see that it is the unfortunate majority who will be wiping the streets with their own failure. There is however the sucessful minority who do not muck around and who just get on with it and get great results. I would rather go to my school than a comprehensive because the staff are absolutly great, and you can reach your potential sucessfully without paying for it.
  13. Do any of you know any other youngish numismatists other than us?
  14. I get a monthly 'allownce' of £20 from my parents and £2 a week from my grand-parents.
  15. Wow, the antiques roadshow managed to show a 1933 penny, it must have been the pattern if it only sold for £25,000, the real one would sell for much more.
  16. In my opinion, it is definately worth waiting sixteen weeks for! Btw, why do you have to wait for sixteen weeks until you van buy it?
  17. Have you noticed that there has been an increase of people seeking valuations. They seem to trust us more than 'coin people' or maybe it's the fact that Chris is always at the top of coin related google searches...........
  18. I have seen that farthing when I was at the coin fair. It has absolutly woinderful fields which are surprisingly mirror like. If you do decide to buy it, you will not ber dissappointed!
  19. Never mind Master JMD, maybe another will come onto the market in the next 5 years or so.
  20. Do you think they could all be sold within 5 years?
  21. Look at this: 1954 forged penny Someone has altered the '6' in the date to a '5'! So if you want an 'authentic' 1954 penny, then you had better bid!
  22. Why not? Even though their value will either be frozen or go down over the next five years or so due to this 'new discovery' of high grade farhtings.
  23. Really that low! That is only £2-£4 per coin!
  24. How much do you think the farthing hoard will sell for in the end?
  25. I wonder why they were dumped at the side of roads................
