That's a massive jump since last time, I know. This time however, I've concentrated on the text, so the images are just circles to calculate space. I have also yet to complete the image captions. Geordie, It's a shame there is a distinct lack of ancient coin knowledge in this forum. You could ask my mate Richard at www.coinsforsale.co.uk. He has lots of experience with ancient.

Almost, it's really for coins that you've bought or have seen sold at £X. As you can see JMD, Oli, HPJ etc have entered coins they've bought and a few coins they're seen sold on ebay. It's just a general database to help out with the book prices. Combined with Marles prices and your individual price scouting it all helps out. JMD: What do you mean it's tatty!!!? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an exodus a plural version of exit. I.e. more than one thing exited? I know I'm being a bit of an Oli, but you only lost one phone so it can't be correct.

My sister managed to drop hers down the toilet before. She 'borrowed' dads until hers dried out, but it never worked again as far as I know. Let me know if you find it.

Oli, If you do an advanced search on ebay you can choose to see the items that have sold, so that will reveal probably new useful farthing prices daily. Sorry I missed your question. I missed a lot when I was in the UK. I want to try to not make this book an average of a high book and a low book unless that's absolutley neccessary, and thought to be accurate. I know it won't be possible with everything, but it would be good if the prices are what people are paying. I'll make a note this weekend to offer the rotographic database as a download, so you can all see what's already there.

I have the Marles prices, which I will also factor in (probably). The prices will not be changed until I finish the actual book, and I'm up to Edward Florins in text, and The cartwheel 2d in pictures and text. So it's going to take me another few weeks to get finished without the prices (although I'm getting hard into it lately, the Oct publishing date is getting closer and closer) So, do it as soon as you can, but obviously don't get an ulser.

I'm a member, as you'll notice from the link on the homepage. The main reason I joined is to have the logo and some kind of official recognition on the website. They are not a trade body, but I joined the US version, so I thought it wouldn't hurt. A few dealer friends are also members. You do indeed get use of the Library and a big printed index of the British Numismatic Journal from the last 100 years. And you get invited to events and the oportunity to purchase the official medal, with your name engraved on it. There is no doubt that they are the best numismatic society for the research of British related coins.

The most sought after coins are the coins in top conditions. The best available of any date, with full mint lustre is preferable. There are some scarcer dates of course and some coin types that are popular but the most important thing for most collectors is the coin being in the best condition they can afford. The 1933 Halfpenny is common and not worth much unless in exceptional condition.

5000 is not a small issue at all. The only thing that will make that modern coin worth more in the future is if there are more than 5000 people that can afford one, and want one. Bearing in mind the ridulous almost monthly commemorative coins that the RM produce to choose from, that's probably unlikely for many years.
