azda Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Was just trawling through omnicoin and came across thishttp://omnicoin.com/coin/1029460 Quote
Rob Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I concur. The hair detail has the typical coarse cutting you often associate with copies. The harp detail also doesn't match. However, the Spink illustration is for 1766. Quote
Rob Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 http://www.irishcoinage.com/L0001.HTMAlthough the grade is not the best, this page is a bit more helfpul Quote
azda Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) It just did'nt look right when i saw it and also grabbed my spink for further assesment, not kosha IMHO. Edited December 23, 2014 by azda Quote
CartwheelTwopence Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Oops! That's mine! Listed it today! Do you think it's fake then? I'll remove it instantly should it be... Quote
CartwheelTwopence Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 BTW, I thought that it was a bit too good... Looking online I could not find one even close to that grade. Such a shame; I thought I had a real treasure there! Quote
azda Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Certainly looks like it cartwheel. Don't worry, itsnot ebay, but the hair detail just seems all wrong. Where did you buy it? Quote
CartwheelTwopence Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I bought it in a lot from a boot sale. Big bag with 100's. £8 if I remember correctly, this is a few years ago. Bits of silver were in there, 2 proof sets, nothing too valuable... then that. I bet it would have been worth a good £60 or so? Shame. Quote
CartwheelTwopence Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Found one similar here, in far worse grade though: http://www.omnicoin.com/coin/1000968 Quote
