Help Identifying Penny

I have a few questions regarding the British Penny.

1. I have 1918 and 1919 Penny, How do i know if they are the regular penny or the 1918/1919 H/KN

2. Are the 2 versions of the 1901 Penny? One with a Veiled bust?

3. What could I expect to play for a 1950 and 1951 Penny in F or EF condition?

1. The 1918 and 1919 pennies minted at Heaton (H) and Kings Norton (KN) have small letters alongside the date to denote this. As an example, here is a 1919KN

2. There is only one version of the 1901 penny.

3. 1950 & 51 pennies are regularly listed on eBay. That should give you an idea on price. Be aware that they are both available as circulation coins and proofs.

The 1918 and 1919 KNs are much rarer are worth considerably more than the Hs, which in turn are rarer than the plains

No, the 1919KN's are rarer and more valuable than the H's, which in turn are rarer and more valuable than the plain versions. All are available in Fine condition at minimal cost but the 1919KN in true UNC, for example, might be $ 5,000! Values range over a broad spectrum, primarily based on condition.

The values are roughly (from highest to lowest, medium grade) :

1919KN

1918KN, 1918H

1919H

1912H

but in top grade, the 1919H probably ranks alongside 1918KN, it's a difficult one to find.

1950 and 1951 NON proofs are unusual in that the proofs are worth less, and it's the same with the brass 3d of those dates. Normally proofs are worth more.
