VickySilver Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Nice coin there. I wonder what would happen if another of similar quality were to emerge from the shadows and go on sale - what would be the price drop? Quote
Nicholas Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Not much. If a handful popped up then the value might be downgraded to a common variety 1819 G3 Sovereign Quote
VickySilver Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 At 400k per copy, plenty of room down to even 200 though.Australia must still allow coins to be part of peoples' retirement package in terms of tax benefits? That really puts a heater to their market IMO. Quote
Nicholas Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 My guess is that this type of elite coin is only in the realm of the big Aussie dealers and the 1920S becomes the jewel in their crown. And they have the buyers network in case they need to convert it back to cash... Quote

And they have the buyers network in case they need to convert it back to cash...I suppose it's all relative! However, I never considered that someone who could afford to buy a mega-buck coin, would ever be thinking about money things...unless you were going to be holding a collection of just 1 coin, and were borrowing against the wife and house to get it!I know I buy beyond my means but, well, wow...
