Lastpave Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Hi everyone. I'm very new to coin collecting, a couple of days almost but its surprising what you can find. So, short story very quickly. I was given some change the other day and when I tipped out my pocket I found a very worn old looking coin, could of passed for a 10p, well, it did to me. So I told a friend, he looked and said I should check online to see what it was, but I told my mum also and she gave me three other coins she's had, again, very interesting but i'm at that point where I need some help clarifying what these coins are. I think I have a William III Shilling 1699 A George III silver Crown 1819 GEORGE III HALF PENNY 1807 ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA 1965 CHURCHILL I do have images I can link to if anyone could help, many thanks. Garrett Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Wow amazing, you were handed a 1699 shilling in your change ?! That's something that would not happen in Oz.Yes the pictures will help, there is a thread in the beginners section on posting pics.Alternatively, seeing as you suspect you know what the coins are you could type "1699 shilling" into Google images (google.com and click on 'images') and see if you get a match.cheersGarrett. Generic Lad Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 And to think I'm happy whenever I can find a silver coin from 1964 in my change! Can't imagine what it would be like to find a coin older than my country in change! Quote
