RChris Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Would someone please enlighten me as to what exactly I have here? I'm thinking farthing obverse brockage on a halfpenny blank. But the weight is 4.2g and dia is 24mm - so I'm just not sure. Quote
Rob Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 It might be a filed down halfpenny blank, or even an impression made in a scrap piece of bar end. Weight is obviously wrong for both 1/2d and 1/4d. I would go for a farthing obverse impression on the latter unless you can match up the vague relief detail on the flat side to a farthing obverse. Quote
bagerap Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Looks as though it's been through something like an hydraulic press given the depth and sharpness of the lettering. Quote

Or some idiot arsing around...... Quote
