I went to the local fried chicken place for lunch today, ordered a Big Meal.. £3.99 bargain!

When I went to pay, I noticed a shiny thing in my hand... It was an immaculate 2010 Pound coin! I realised that I had under a fiver in change total, so I quickly said to the bemused looking shop owner.. "one sec, I have to go to the cash machine!". Off I went to get a tenner out, returned, paid, enjoyed my grub!

Long story short... It is all your faults!... For encouraging me, you are bad influences! :D

Welcome to the club! I've learnt to check my change after I leave the shop - it's a bit insulting to the cashier when you rifle through your shrapnel in front of them. "it's all there!". I find myself changing notes all the time instead of using the huge amounts of of coinage on my person. Currently looking for an undated 20p, one more £2 design and about 23 Olympic 50p's. The cashier at Tesco looked at me strangely yesterday due to my big grin at him giving me the fencing one!

The only thing about collecting from change for me, is the absence of history! I can absolutely and fully understand the 'collecting syndrome,' the compilation of hard-won aquisitions of any type but, mystery, romance, and mystic, are where it's at for me!

Great story, though, and glad you're enjoying the sport!

Do they do vegetarian food? ;)

Don't think that is a recognised Olympic event.

Ahh, you've obviously never seen us plating up a near-full English in our little box, with the challenge being to keep it all hot! Hurdles and javelin come immediately to mind! :)

Just wait until you go to the bank for a bag of 50ps or £2 to sort through in the hope of that elusive commemorative. Serious stuff requiring check in to the Priory - I've booked my bed!
