Sorry for not writing sooner fellows. I was out of town...

So, the final verdict is - a jeton, right?!?

If you look at Nick's post above (19th August) he gives reference to 2 Dutch websites which may give more information? (You will need to use Google Translate, unless you're a fluent Dutch speaker - I'm only conversant with Double Dutch myself  )

Hello folks,

To revive this older topic i just found (metal detecting) a similar coin today. I had no idea what it was, nor do i have yet. I am adding two pictures of my coin and would like to mention that it is 1.9-2.0cm in diameter, very thin and 0.61grams weight. Coin was found in western Romania in a field at about 25cm depth. On that location was a former village around 1700-1850 (when it moved entirely).

Strange thing my coin reads around head: GE.II.D.G. M.B.F (E.T.H.I ?)

on reverse in can see: HONI SOIT QVI MALY PENSE down DIEV ET MON DROIT and RE (I.A.V) PF

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Greetings,

BM

The inscription is right for George II - DG (Dei Gratia "by the grace of God") MBF (Magnae Britanniae, Franciae "of Great Britain, France") ETHI(B) (Et Hiberniae "and Ireland"). There should also be REX ("King").

It looks like a medallion of some kind, especially as the portrait faces the opposite way than on the coins.

You need to put up some pictures, unless you literally have that exact coin, otherwise anyone else's guess is as good as yours.

I'm not the best person to send it to really I don't have any experience in in this field, but others won't be able to help without pictures.

Get the picture up on your computer screen then take a screenshot and crop that in paint or something, that should reduce the size massively so you can post it here.
