See hereGreat Britain. Bronze Halfpenny, 1862, `A at lighthouse` variety. Victoria Bun Head. S-3956. Just to the left of Eddystone Lighthouse appears a small, capital letter `A` which touches the linear line. Quote

The introduction of the lighthouse on the coinage may however have been influenced by Grace Darling's heroism at the Longstone Lighthouse in 1838. Quote
