azda Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Sent this to Rob earlier yesterday for his opinion, but thought i'd post here also. Whilst strolling through the t'internet as you do of an evening looking for bargains and oddities i came accross this. Its a 1739 Crown, it is of high grade but not that i'm shelling out the sort of cash the dealer wants for it, the 3 in the date caught my eye though, so thought i'd pop it on here for you ladies to have a gaze and your opinions on what MIGHT be under the 3.Sorry the picture isn't spectacular, it was the sealers gallery piccy and i've cut/chopped and enlarged just enough or else i'd lose the focus on it Quote
Cerbera100 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Possibly a 4?! Might just be looking for something that isn't there though! Quote
argentumandcoins Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Looks more like a 1 if you compare the 1 at the start of the date.More than likely chasing shadows though! Edited April 12, 2011 by argentumandcoins Quote
azda Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Well i've basically emailed the seller telling him about it and asked that if it is an overstamp could he send me a picture and what his thoughts are on it, so will be interested to hear what he comes back with. Quote
