Any help in valuing these silver coins, I am looking to sale. I tried to upload one big picture but too large for upload..? I know condition is paramount for grading coins most are average condition except 1942 Half crown which I would grade EF

1 x 1889 GB CROWN

1 X 1895 CROWN

1 X 1889 HALF CROWN

1 X 1887 DOUBLE FLORIN

1 X 1942 HALF CROWN

14 x silver three pences. 1915,1917,1918 x 2, 1919 x 2, 1920 x 2, 1933,1935,1938,1940,1941

All are better than 'scrap condition' and the 1942 half crown looks extra fine. the 1895 Crown has the LVIII legend round rim, you can see detail clearly in the face on the 1889 crown

I think these weigh in at 4.7 ounces.

But as collectors items what should I be looking for?? Any good dates here or varieties I should be looking for???

I would be looking to sell and would avoid ebay if a decent offer is accepted here..

Thanks Russ777

Condition is everything. The range of values for e.g. the 1889 2/6 go from around £8 in Fine to £100+ in mint. Pictures are essential, but they can be split over several posts, or else a scan of all together but saved at lowish compression, might do it.

Thanks Peter which one would be classed as fine?? Also if anyone would be kind enough to tot this little lot up? Thankyou

Hopefully I did not pay too far over the odds at auction

I am not too good on my grading so being given your grades/values would help.

Your coins are well circulated and worth about £10 to £15 apart from the 1942 halfcrown ...although it looks nice maybe £2 or £3...it is 50% silver however your other coins are 92.5% silver...hang on to them and maybe a base for a decent collection.

The silver 3ds are worth very little unless mint...remember even at 20x face for scrap they are worth 25p.Save them for your Xmas pud but watch out your teeth.

Save them for your Xmas pud.

1889 Double florin ?

Halfcrown Russ, tenner if you do it on a Sunday night!

Sunday is madness you can get £20 Coin for 99p and equally a 99p coin for £20.I would recomend a midweek night with out football on the box....but be prepared to take highs and lows

Over my years of selling and buying on Ebay it has worked out OK just limit your bid..I have one seller (a young girl) who sent a washer for a nice coin..It is difficult to tell off a youngster as I have a couple of my own...they would just get a slap.:rolleyes:

Yes. I used to to be shy of giving eBay sellers a slap, but not any more. I sent back a '63 UNC set yesterday because there was unmentionmed green corrosion on 'em.

No mercy these days; having said that, I'm still 99% satisfied, just more careful.
