argentumandcoins Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 It's a base metal spade guinea token or gaming counter. Quote
azda Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) What weight is it JohnMc? Did they make spade Guineas in 1802 John? Possibly Half Guinea 5th head? It should be around 4g ish if so, but the date doesn't fit as it has a spade REV. Could you also tell us the die axis Johnmc, IE when the Kings head us pointing upwards and you spin the coin around between 2 fingers to the other side (REV) is the spade pointing in the same direction, or opposite to the Kings head? azda Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Did they make spade Guineas in 1802 John? Hence i asked the question, i did notice that, so presumably a gaming token. Quote
JohnMc Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks to both argentumandcoins and azda. You have been very helpfull. The coin does weigh 4g and as for the die axis; well on spinning the coin as directed, the bottom (point) of the shield is aligned with the neck and the flat top aligns with the forehead.Once again, thanks to you bothJohnMc Quote

Filched a draw at Anfield on Saturday. Still, the look on their faces when our first "goal" went in made up for all the beachballs of last season. Quote
