azda Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 Not getting the rub of the green just now eh ?Fingers crossed it turns up.Yes unfortunately this seems to be the case 400, although the guy i bought the 1901 3D penny from seems to have 2 more of the same looking coin listed which i find rather strange. They can be seen herehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VICTORIA-ONE-PENNY1901-/250673491566?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item3a5d4dee6eand herehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1901-VICTORIA-PENNY-HIGH-GRADE-/250672865991?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item3a5d4462c7 Quote
£400 for a Penny ? Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Hmm,Well that would tend to lend weight to the theory that it's the way he photographs them (or lights them) that makes them seem different, although it has to be said, again, two more very nice strikes by the look of it. Quote
azda Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 unless he's using the same pictures to sell 1901 Pennies. Check out my new aquistion, arrived today and is in the coin aquisition of the week thread Quote
Fubar Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Strange how both those pennies have the same marks and dings.Just different lighting.A stock photo or purposefully misleading?I'm just a novice so I don't know what goes on. Quote

Yes you are right Fubar, both coins seem the same, if you look at the REV to the right of the date there is a small light scratch and the same scratch appears in both auctions, so no idea what he's playing at, whether it's a mistake or whatever Quote
