Hi wonder if you can help ....? trying to up load a pic of what i believe to be a coin found when i was emptying my hoover ?

Not sure it is a coin as it is appox 13mm across,looks like a kings head on one side with letters i writing dont understand,the other side has a cross with dots between the empty areas and also writing on it ....sorry to be so vague

any help appreciated

Hunting on the net looks like a Edward the III half groat ? how did that end up in my hoover ?????

Did a time traveller borrow your hoover? You can upload a pic with the Attach This File button. It should be jpg and not too large.

possibly...... wondered where it had got to ,,, finding it hard to take a clear picture of the coin as its so small ?

If anyone has an Edward III halfgroat they could upload the picture and let her compare it, am intruged as to how it ended up in the hoover, were you hoovering a field? :lol:

If its 13mm it won't be a groat....more likely an Edward 1 farthing

Weren't those pennies chopped into 4 along the cross? Or am I remembering wrong?

Silver pennies were halved and quartered but during the reign of Edward 1 tiny round farthings were produced for the 1st time.

Wow, I don't think I ever saw one of those! They must be pretty damn small?
