Guest aussiecarters Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Hey,Just wondering if anyone can give me any information on a one sided King George V penny. The back of the penny is completely blank so the date is unknown. any information would be greatly appreciated.thanks. Quote
Gary D Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 How can we if we don't see a picture? You need to check the thickness against a normal penney, also the weight as someone may have just erased the reverse. Quote
Red Riley Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 How can we if we don't see a picture? Almost certainly been erased, possibly by putting on a lathe (in which case the reverse will have marks remeniscent of a record). Very, very unlikely to have been issued in that condition from the mint. Value? Probably nothing at all.Incidentally, a wee bit intemperate, Mr. H. Quote
VickySilver Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Yes, please have mercy on us "newbies"! A weight at least would be crucial if the picture is not possible. I have seen quite a few QE II uniface coins that were correct weight and not struck with obverse or reverse. Not seen a George yet (excluding the prohibitively rare MODEL pieces, and these are generally reverse only). Quote
