If only one side is blank, my first guess would be that it was post mint damage. Does it look like it's been filed or sanded down? Quote

If so, you probably have about 3p's worth of brass!Anybody got any better suggestions? Quote
Gary D Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) That's been machined I'm affraid, not an error. Edited November 27, 2008 by Gary D Quote
Hussulo Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Sorry, but I agree. That has been done on a machine after it was minted. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Yes, definitely. Probably just for fun, but I've got older copper coins that have been hollowed so that you can hide a gold coin under. I notice it was an ebay item from the image, hope it wasn't expensive! Quote
