Two are EADRED pennies, one is an EDMUND and one is an EDELSTAN. I would appreciate any information anyone has about them. Thank you! Quote

I dug them up myself and I'm 100% certain they are real. Quote

I only have four, no hoard sadly. (I'm not a detectorist or a coin collector, story is I was out on a hike, walking up a steep track and in a moment of good fortune I guess spotted a coin sticking out of the mud. The soil was crumbly and loose (eroding I guess) I just dug around with my hands for about 15 min and found the other three, they were all no more than an inch below the surface) I was going to just try and sell them until you mentioned having them documented and recorded which I hadn't thought of but I see would be the sensible thing to do. I'll have to search the net and find out how to do it. thanks. Quote

HistoricCoinage Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Not much is known about specific moneyers, only those listed in the Domesday and yours are much earlier than that!There doesn't appear to be any rare moneyers on your coins for the issues, so you just noticed these whilst walking? Have you gone back with a metal detector since?I know it's cruel to ask but are you interested in selling?
