scottishmoney Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Can't see that clearly, but by the condition of the busts, it looks to me as if GF is an underestimate. Probably VF is nearer the mark, and by that token your figure of £30 to £40 is also an underestimate.I concur with your opin. Quote
Teg Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Hi,nice coin, as said - William and Mary farthing, Peck, B.M. 619 Single exergue line.Spink is way to high for W&M farthings. I have no idea why, it's annoying because itdistorts the market.Yours would normally be described (by reputable dealers) as NVF (Near Very Fine).A fair eBay price would be £50 -£60 more on a good day, but I have seen many worse coins offered fortwice that - and not sell.I have 15 of these - mostly different varieties. I like them but no way are they as rareas most guides claim.Teg Quote
Teg Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Thats OK,are you the seller of this eBay coin - or a buyer?Teg Quote
crs Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 I bought this coin, along with several others in a market in Germany several years ago. I mostly have gold sovereigns but have about 2 dozen coppers-- most of which I know nothing aboutc Quote

Nice examples are fairly rare. This one certainly has eye appeal. Quote

I always like to see a quality farthing.TegThis one certainly has eye appeal. Quote
Peter Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 TegMy W & M was purchased pre computer days so I couldn't swipe a proffessional picture from the dealer. I'm currently experimenting with my scanner but feel I will end up spending out on a decent digital camera. My girls have a Sony point and shoot and this beats my scanner.Just to whet your appetite the obverse is fantastic and the copper is top classPeter. Peter Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 This is the 1st attempt with the scanner.I think I need to go down the camera route.http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=922799 Quote
