Just what gives you the highest thrill in numismatics? Mine is finding a coin that has been incorrectly identified, even if I can't obtain it, and being able to investigate and allocate with certainty. It is, more often than not, among the hammered coins of the medieval times. It happens often enough to keep me happy!! :D

Obtaining a nice well struck coin....that you don't ask yourself if you paid too much...it rarely happens.

I do enjoy a jaunt around a Coin Fair (Midland I like) When I have birthday/Xmas funds in my wallet.

I have to add, buying a "lot" of coins - finding rubbish- but then three very interesting ones that will keep me researching for weeks!

Identifying and then acquiring high grade unrecorded varieties. Finding coins with a good provenance that has been missed by the seller or lastly picking up a piece for £5 that is worth £500. All produce the same buzz.

I like that too, i started buyng some foreign gold on ebay and have struck lucky a couple of times.

Im sorting through a massive collection that was left, about 20 times more coins than i had collected over 15 years as a "mere beginner" my biggest buzz now is finding a coin that i know is expensive and not many people have.!!

a good example is a very nice 1854 florin in brilliant nick.... not selling..... :P

One day the wife may understand why i get so into it.

I will do a website when i finish sorting them out and photographing them to keep a tally on them. All the good ones are locked up in a bank vault now..... too scared as i live in a semi rough area where "they come back an nick the milk from your tea after they took the sugar"

I can't be bothered with a website. Too much troub;e keeping it up to date, taking time away from coins! I just use Omnicoin for selected coins I may want to discuss.( courtesy of Coinpeople.com)
