secret santa Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 In the 2024 Coins of England decimal edition, on page 97 variety K69 is a Queen Elizabeth £2 coin but on page 405, K69 is a Charles III £2 coin. The QEII coin is supposedly a "Britannia" variety bearing a "privy mark" denoting the year of her death but I can't find any photos/trace of this coin. Can anyone help ? Quote
Paddy Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 I don't have the book to see the details of the coins you are looking at. (I gave up on decimal last year!) What year are you looking at? I know there is a privy mark on some of the 2019 Britannia 50ps, but that is clearly too early for a coin to record her death. Quote
Bruce Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Maybe this one? https://crawleycoins.co.uk/product/2022-britannia-with-privy-mark-26-22-uk-2-bu-coin-in-capsule/ 1 Quote
secret santa Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 Thanks - so, it does exist, but clearly they have erroneously given two different coins the same identifying code (K69). 1 Quote
