Mr T Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Has anyone read The Diary of Leonard Wyon? It was published by Spink a few years ago: https://spinkbooks.com/products/hard-at-work-the-diary-of-leonard-wyon-1853-1867-by-attwood-p-bns-sp9 Is there anything new or interesting in there related to the coins he worked on? Peckris 2 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 It's mentioned in that fascinating BNJ article on early bun pennies we were linked to recently. There are mentions of the work he did at home (he had the equipment apparently) and then took into the RM . Though this is only a small bit of the diary which apparently is mostly domestic. 1 Quote
1949threepence Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Didn't realise it existed. Looks a great buy. Probably be all manner of interesting snippets in there. 1 Quote
Zo Arms Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Dr Larry referred to it a few times in his threads. Wyon had a furnace at home in his workshop to harden dies it seems. Does sound a fascinating read. 1 Quote
