POP counts for Decimal coins

There has been an interesting thread in the Members area regarding individual pre-decimal collections as a percentage of my collection. It was suggested there might be interest in a similar thread for decimal coins, so here is my starting list. Counts must be for individual different coins - no scores for duplicates and spares. As many people have decimal coins in year sets, I have listed those separately as I generally have both. Precious metal proof coins do not count and all coins must be British mainland coins - no scores for Channel Island, IOM, Gibraltar etc.I have left out the £5 coins, but if people feel they should be included I can add them in. (I have stopped collecting them as I am fed up with the Royal Mint on these!)

If you post your figures I hope @Stuntman will do one of his magic spreadsheets...

Half P - 14
Penny - 48
Two Pence - 45
Five Pence - 50
Ten Pence - 51
Twenty Pence - 43
Fifty Pence - 101
One Pound - 46
Two Pound - 61

Proof sets - 41 (Some standard, some executive)

Well here's the Decimal POP table, comparing Paddy's coins to my own.

I have an overall Decimal POP number of 22, with a 50p POP number of 51 and a £2 POP number of 62.  If you want to add Decimal crowns (both 25p and £5 denominations) feel free to do so!

Actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting, I've shifted so much of my shabby stuff in order to get better ones that I only have this currently. although I'm sure I'm missing a shoe box full of other sets.

Thats a rather unhealth amount of solid metal £2 coins, are many the Claim of Rights ? I'm keeping an eye out for one but for some reason they're ridiculously expensive.

Are we adding the £20, £50 and £100 coins then?  Happy to, but they aren't really normal coins, given you can't actually spend them in most shops.

(I have 4 of the £20 coins and the £50, coin but no £100 coins.  In fact, it was the emergence of the £100 coin that made me see the advantages of spending that kind of money on the predecimal stuff instead...)

My understanding is that these bigger coins are really just commemorative or bullion. I will never collect them, but if everyone else is, feel free to include them. (Your spreadsheet might need altering for a "Divide by zero" error though!)

I have to agree the sentiment that £100 coins changed my view too, a sharp realisation that things vastly more worth of my cash existed, and they would be far better in investment terms too.

I'd shift them on if I could get my cash back I think.

OK - updated table including the £20, £50 and £100 silver coins.  I've introduced the concept of MINP for these coins - being the 'Max If Not Paddy' number of these coins that one of us owns up to holding!  This gets round any 'divide by zero' issues and also offers a POP-style number for these denominations with a maximum of 100...
