zookeeperz Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Evening gang take a squiz at this shilling and tell me what could be printed here. I am not sure which way it was written but turning the truncation 90 degrees clockwise it looks like it says F.15 y,V or X 8 SB. there could be other symbols above the truncation but I cannot make them out so I have left them for now It's either a B. of one of those old fashioned £ signs but it's clear as day. Anyone ? Quote
jelida Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 The main reason you are unsure what is ‘written’ is that you are trying to make sense of shapes and pixels. They are shitty close-ups. (Is ‘shitty’ allowed?) I’m afraid I can again not see any reasonable evidence of lettering. Perhaps I need an imagination implant. Jerry Quote
Unwilling Numismatist Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 When there are initials they show up really well. Quote

Jerry Not my pics Jerry its from a coin I saw and blew it up but it didn't have the desired effect. Might be better with just original pic but then again you still might not see it Quote
Unwilling Numismatist Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 There were no initials on the second head, 1839-1863 though, so you may be looking for something that isn't there. (Fox Mulder wants to believe too!) 2 Quote
