Sorry couldn't resist. As follows

Top left a John coin. Kings lynn mint. (LENE) only open during Johns recoinage. Very rare mint.

Top right is Henry II or Richard. Moneyer Everard which would make it York mint.

Left second down is Henry III Roger Canterbury.

Third left is a another Henry III.  Walter possibly the moneyer.

Third down right is a henry III longcross of Nicole London.

The rest are beyond me unfortunately. I couldn't be certain of those ones.

Hell, you've gotta get some books Gaz...you need to know this stuff, given the amount of material you have! ?

I don't mind doing the short cross coins honestly. I often buy unresearched ones just to do the IDs. He does have some stuff though. Truly envious of some of his short cross coins.

Keep posting em up i never tire of looking at them. ?

I do mate, I have a few books  but they are all old. I was detecting for about 30 years, When I started a detector was as good as walking around a field with a magnet on a rope

I stopped detecting about 10 years ago due to problems. All my coins and artefacts ended up in the loft, not seen for years.

But everything good again now so just got myself a new detector..Xp deus ...brill!!, and recovered my coin cabinet from the loft. some nice bits I found ;)

Just need some books like you said.

Magnet on a rope ?. Love it. I started off in that era. Had an old c scope. I got more iron than the scrapman ?.

Gave it up in the end and started again in 2010 but stopped last year due to lack of permissions. People keep saying to me take it down the river or canals but as i remind them its all private land somebody owns it and if caught i stand to lose my entire collection so not worth it. Bloody hard getting permissions here , my scouse accent does me no good at all in north east lancs either.

Detectorists are back on bbc4 for a new series tomorrow at 10pm ?

Everyone I've spoken to thinks that's crap timing, but I finish work around 9pm tomorrow, with a 30 minute drive home...perfect timing I say! ?

In an age when everything is recordable, I don't see how it matters. I'll be in the pub losing at darts so it'll be just nice when I get home. :)

So looking forward to series 3. I've been a fan since episode 1. The Jimmy Saville badge still cracks me up, his face ?

Nothing recordable with my Luddite set-up! Good old fashioned push the aerial in the back of the tele stuff for me, with an occasional tweak of the mast outside! :)

?  Remember those. Me dad spent more time fiddling about pulling out snapped cassette  tapes and cleaning the heads than he did watching movies.

Its worth a try again i suppose. May try the bottle of scotch routine.  I hear it works miracles ?

Always at Christmas... bottle of sloe gin. That  does the trick... Its strange though how from knocking on a farmers door, not knowing what you are going to meet to becoming really good friends with that person.

Its a lovely pass time, and you have the chance of finding a coin or two.
