rink123 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Hi All I went out today with my metal detector and got this shilling is it a rare date ? Thx Quote
PWA 1967 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 If you go in london coin auction website ,then click on prices realised enter 1863 shilling. From that it will bring up pictures and the prices they sold for without the premium. Just had a quick look and they list it as a rare date although not my thing. Not sure on price either ,as you dug it up not the best condition . Be lucky. Pete. Quote
Michael-Roo Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Certainly a scarce date. Worth about £60-£80 in this condition? Edited January 24, 2017 by Michael-Roo Quote
rink123 Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Thx for the fast reply's will get a better pic in the day light :} Quote
Michael-Roo Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I see you've put it for auction on ebay with an opening price of £100 (same photos). That was fast work if you only found it today and are unsure of its value. I doubt you'll get what you're asking, but you never know. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/1863-Shilling-Rare-Date-/182432707511?hash=item2a79d633b7:g:BkcAAOSwLEtYh4er Quote
