AdamBell Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Hi everyone. I need help with this coin i purchased it and need help to judge if it is genuine. If anyone is an expert on Roman coins i would be grateful. Thank you Quote
Rob Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 It's unlikely to be copied in that state, but given your concerns, why buy it if you aren't happy it is genuine? Obviously you won't have paid more than a pound or so, but you could get a VF Roman for a tenner or little more. Also, if in doubt, buy from a reputable dealer who will refund you if there is a problem. Quote
AdamBell Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 Hi, i am a total newbie to roman coins and purchased this for quite cheap. I was curious if it was genuine and to know what date is is approxiamately. Thanks for your response Quote
jelida Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Looks mid to late 4th century from the portrait, but I cant be more specific. Looks a genuine detector found to me. Jerry Quote
Geordie582 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) Could be one of these although this is of Gratian But Valentinian also used the 'Warrior dragging captive' motif. Roman Gratian AE3 17mm circa 380 Edited May 3, 2016 by Geordie582 Quote
