loose54 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Does anyone know where I could find an example of the 1878 Wide Date Halfpenny in VF or above? It has been a constant nuisance to me not being able to find one, they never seem to be coming up in auctions or dealers lists and when they do appear in London Coins they are all only VG. I think it is an underrated variety personally, only judging by how hard I have found it to get one! Thanks to anybody that can help!
Bronze & Copper Collector Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Both my reverse N's (wide dates 1878) obverse 14 & obverse 15 are in fine to vf...I have another 15 & N in good however that has slightly thicker legends.....My 1878 reverse O's are only in good to fine.. Tough date to find in high grade.

I made an offer to the seller, he accepted it and I paid for it. Not long after, I received a refund and was told he got a higher offer.
