  1. Congratulations to chris on his 1000 post!
  2. Bismarck....but I'll let it pass Hood
  3. Chris is right, look for hair. The BU ones have hair on his head, very faint sideburns and a full beard.
  4. I'd put: Cracked Die - Sometimes, when a coin is struck with too much pressure or the die is old and worn, it starts to crack. When the coins are struck with cracked dies, their metal is forced into the cracks which makes little raised lines on the finished product. Siege Money- Siege (or obsidional) money was essentially created as a means of payment during a siege when normal sources of revenue ran out. Siege money comes in varied shapes and sizes.
  5. The bright lustrous one are fantastic no doubt but the blackened ones have a certain...mystique about them, wouldn't you say?
  6. Although not as extensive, Chris' is better because he actually uses pictures & descriptions whereas Coincraft just uses descriptions.
  7. Ridiculously overpriced
  8. Coincraft have quite an extensive online glossary that explains those terms too. BTW, all Edward VII farthings have a nice dark finish on them; this was to avoid confusion with half sovereigns. There's a picture below in which one can see it is very different from the others.
  9. "My yacht was boarded by marauding Pirates and I've been traumatised ever since"?
  10. I'll buy some next time I purchase some farthings!
  11. There's also triphthongs in words like mower, iron, fiery etc!
  12. Ahh I did say vigilantism, and presumptuous vigilantism at that!
  13. The end product looks good anyway!
  14. I didn't create it; a dipthong is a recognised character. A dipthong is two vowels together
  15. That's the thing though - why three pairs??
  16. Hehehe any other special character requests?????
  17. Twas one of his highness' new rules set down a few weeks ago. Vigilantism I believed I called it!
  18. Here's a dipthong for you to copy and paste when typing Æthelred's name! Æ
  19. Actually I've been worrying my parents, but on sites for Wedding attire, they do nice white gloves for the bridegroom etc which are nice but I don't know their buildup and they are quite expensive!
  20. No, one must humour the elderley. Something more subtle like "I'm scared of Pirates" may do the trick!
  21. I just hold mine between finger and thumb. I've yet to find some nice white gloves though!
