Just bought this recently,it's a 1819 LIX Crown,slabbed by PCGS,however the dot between HONI and SOIT looks to have been struck twice.

I've had a couple dozen NGCs that were incorrectly attributed and which I cracked out. Checking the label is a really good way of getting a bargain, because they get it wrong on a regular basis - usually failing to identify a rare feature. My 1839/41 proof halfpenny in the unlisted varieties section springs to mind as an obvious failure; or Hus's 1844 1/3 farthing described as a half by PCGS despite not having the words HALF FARTHING in big friendly letters on the front (with apologies to Douglas Adams). I think the best I had was a 1834 H/C MS 63 or 64 marked as a script,when it was block that was NGC,more recently a 1926 ME H/c marked as normal.

I think to preserve the coins,slabs are the best option. If you buy a coin that is beautifully toned,the last thing you want is for that to disappear.I have also bounced a few slabs on the floor,and would prefer to crack plastic,than flatten metal.As long you are happy with the coin,their grade won't matter so much,and when you sell break it out. CGS also let you look at past invoices,so heaven forbid anything where to happen to your collection,it's a backup-"ins purposes". I did have a few NGC that were wrongly slabbed which I cracked and had re-attributed.

Hi Can be tricky posting to Eire,as there is no Post code system in place, Airsure is possibly a better option to Special delivery as will track your item to the door,however this means you won't have the item signed for. Post can take upto 4 weeks to arrive,or longer if the Address has been written incorrectly ie Dublin 01 is a completely different place from Dublin 10 whereas Dublin 20 is the same as Dublin 10,they have a strange coded system. I would say the buyer Knows the lenth of time it takes for items to arrive,which could be slightly longer than a Paypal dispute lasts.

I had the coin verified and slabbed by CGS,which was graded by them as F20,probably one of the lowest graded coins that they have done.It was bought from a reputable dealer a number of years ago,the receipt being so safely filed away,that I can't find it. I have added a picture of the reverse of the coin,which is quite darkly toned.

I have been told this is between 400 and 600 AD approx,however I am sure that someone will be able to give me a little more information was bought in Ireland few years ago.will post the other side shortly.

Hi to all within the Forum,I would love to hear your opinion on the picture of the 1819 I have attached. I know from the Collectors' coins Annual that there was one example sold by Spink/Adam,I would like to know if there has been anymore sold,approx mintage(if known),and a value if possible.
