  3. You are good Do you know if it is a coin or a medallion / token of sorts, and do you know where i can find a approximate valuation on this. I will use the information you have given me and try to do some research myself also, if i come up with anything i will post it here. Cheers Scottish

  5. Cheers RLC Thanks for your help mate
  6. A South Africa Silver (in colour) threepence 3d George 1941. It seems to be an exact replica to the Britsh silver threepence only this is from S.A. How would you sort out coins from the colonies? I have a number of coins from the colonies and i am trying to sort them out. If they have the British pence on them would you put them in with other British coins or would you put them with coins from that country? This is driving me mad!!!! Thanks for your help in advance
  7. Again, is there any value to this coin? A silver (in colour) 100 Mills Palestine coin, ive seen lower denominations but as yet my searches have not found anywhere that i can get a value on a 100 mill coin? Size & weight are around the same size of an old British Penny. thanks in advance for your help cheers
  8. Is there any value to this coin? A silver (in colour) One Penny Coin. Front: British West Africa. Looks like the Star of David symbol which in the middle has a circle hole underneath the date 1940. Back: One Penny in writing around the centre hole above that a crown some sort of wreaths around the edge? The front and back may be the other way round..im unsure? Thanks for your time cheers
  9. The coin is about the same size as an old British Penny, Same sort of Bronze colour just slightly heavier. All the wirting is in Indian of sorts, please see photo for identification purposes. Many thanks in advance cheers
  10. Would appreciate some help with this coin or medallion please. I think (by the French wording) it is of French origin. Is this a coin / medallion or peice of junk? It has no value minted on it, that i can see,ive tried many internet searches to try to find a similar one?. It is gold in colour but im 99.9% sure that it is not gold On the side as shown there is some wording & a mark of sorts, from the best of my ability i can only make out that the wording say "CLIVRE" or "OLIVRE" with the mark of sorts at the side? As you can see from the photos it is a large coin / medallion...Help please if you can. cheers Sorry could not upload images of the wording on the side due to maximum file size allowed.

  13. Hello, I have been going through a bag of Farthings they date from 1881 onwards. But i have come across something that is puzzleing me a bit and wonder if anyone could clear things up a bit? As you can see from the photos i have a 1917 which is a completely different colour from all the others, this particular colour is the only one out of them all that i have, is there something in this or just wear and tear over the years? Any comments appreciated cheers
  14. Thank you PECKRIS for your time and information much appreciated
  15. Thank you Josie, for your input unfortunately i do not think the coins that i have been given are "valuable" and therefor will probably not warrant the investment of such a good product? At the moment im just going through them with a magnifying glass, then trying to look up on the inetrnet / on here asking questions of what i should be looking for , as im not a collector i dont know anything about the grading / coins / or how valuable each coin would be worth? Many thanks though
  16. Possibly last one of tonight A ) If there is any value to them? B ) What type of grading would you consider them to be in? Many thanks in advance cheers From THE BRITISH CARIBBEAN TERRITORIES dated 1955 QE2 period and is 25 cents?

  20. Hello, Im looking for knowledgeable collectors of Commonwealth coins to give some some information on the follwing coins, i would like to know: A ) If there is any value to them? B ) What type of grading would you consider them to be in? Many thanks in advance cheers The first one is from THE EAST INDA COMPANY and is a "HALF ANNA" and is dated 1835. sorry could only post these will continue on another thread, as ive run out of upload space?
  21. I wonder if someone here can help me with this one please? I can see that the coin is a One Penny of The George era clearly dated as 1937. But thats it?? On the front the writing is clear enough but thats all that can be made out? On the rear, again writing clear (date & nomination of coin) also the lighthouse (if thats what it is) underneath the "O" in ONE can be clearly seen and the staff / trident just the 3 arrows are clear. Anymore information would be very helpfull, or is this simply another coin thats has been well & truly battered about? cheers
  22. Peckris Thank you for you time, effort and knowledge you have put into your reply its very much appreciated. It will now save me going literally from coin to coin to try to study something that in all honesty i dont know what im looking for, if that makes sense? As for the Microscope, your information in itself saved me a lot of money, i will go for a reasonably decent glass and take things from there. I will NOT attempt to clean them at all. I will now look for the dates you gave and take things from there. I will do some research on the Commonwealth coins before i ask really stupid questions on this forum and hopefully a member will be able to answere any questions i have. Re: The scrap...i can see me having to call in the skip lorry  Cheers again mate very valuable information
  23. Oi...im sure that i see a slight wave in there somewhere cheers peckris that made me laugh
  24. Hello Red Riley, Thank you very much for your reply, very helpfull to me. Fortunately this one shown, is the only one that has been given to me (by my Dad) and i can now stop the mind boggling internet searches that ive been doing to try to establish what coin it is. Thanks again Red, cheers mate
  25. I am really at a loss here with this one! There are no I.D. marks that i can see other than the date @ 1806. On the back you have what looks like Britania seated BUT facing the other way holding the staff at her side? Its size is slightly bigger in dimmension than a penny but twice a penny's thickness. Other than that i dont know what to say as i dont know what to look for? The pictures are not great but in all honesty what you can see in the photos are about what i can see looking at it in my hand. any ideas anyone..?
