  1. Hello, Here we have a Victoria One Penny dated 1875 there seems to be a marking of sorts underneath the date? More concerned about the large marking in the middle of the coin on the rear, right over BRITANIA.. Is this well worn coin worth more than scrap? cheers
  2. The scratch looks like it was a deliberate deface across the Indian Head for some reason? I have inherited 2 collections. Both collections have a large number of Foriegn coins in them.
  3. Thanks again for your info mate!
  4. Cheers RLC35, hopefully if someone wants it , it will do them a "turn" for the time being eh?
  5. Yes mate thats brilliant, when i get round to putting that up for sale do you think £2.00 / £3.00 is a fair price? cheers
  6. Perhaps ive miss-read the information provided on the particular site and the coin i have is not one the Rare coins. Thats a shame i thought i was learning a bit, but it seems im not taking "all" the information in or im not reading the table properly?
  7. John, Thank you very much for your valuable information What grading would you put on this mate? cheers
  8. Appologies for the above quote i did try to edit it before it went on upload but it froze. What i meant to say was..."If the coin isnt worth more than a £1.00, im not going to loose sleep over it, if for whatever reason it will enhance someone elses collection then they can have it for the postage, or if they are lucky enough to have a buyer for it ..good luck to them" Oh dear digger, you are about to fall victim to my infinite pedantry, but you wouldn't believe how irritated I've begun to get by the epidemic all over the internet, of people who can't spell "lose" !! sleep and the patience of a good woman are what you LOSE teeth and some women become LOOSE Do forgive me, I've become a one-man quest to eradicate this blip before it finds its way into the official dictionaries. :( Dear Sir, I promise to correctly spell the word LOSE, and use it in its correct context at all times in the future. Dear Sir, I promise to correctly spell the word LOSE, and use it in its correct context at all times in the future. Dear Sir, I promise to correctly spell the word LOSE, and use it in its correct context at all times in the future. Five lines as promised Mr PECKRIS :D Hahaha all the best mate!
  9. RCL 35 Cheers mate, yes the information was of great help. Prior to seeing your reply i took the advice from Red Riley & Scottish and had taken some more photos as the original ones were of very poor quality (bit like the coin) . So whilst i have the on the PC i may aswell upload them. It is only 13 stars. Your information, once again has been very helpfull & i hope that these are of a better quality, i know it wont change the price
  10. Appologies for the above quote i did try to edit it before it went on upload but it froze. 11. Thanks Red, I ask all these questions on here and never think to google them... er probably me just being lazy? Yes i see what you mean went on a well known auction site, sure enough they had one the same year BUT in ten times better condition than mine, and they only wanted £0.99p My scrap pile is getting sooo big now that if any forum member wants any of the coins that are GENUINLY of no resaleable value but just to add them to their own collection for whatever reason? just tell me ..You can have them for the postage
  12. Sorry Mods, i was unsure where to put this one as i dont know if its a coin or token? It Has Victoria on front (worn) and a hole at the top brassy colouring. Back has "TO HANOVER" at top Man on horse going over what looks likes a dragon of sorts and the date underneath 1837? Its puzzled me.....which isnt hard Because of the damge shown in photos and the general condition of this is there any value to this coin? thank you.
  13. Here is a Liberty head One Cent coin from United States of America dated 1817. The coin is approximately the size of a British 2 pence piece. (shown here in comparison in size to an 1881 one cent) The front has 13 (thirteen stars) round the coin in the middle the bust of Liberty with the word LIBERTY written on the crown (tiara), underneath is the date of 1817. The back has the wording: UNITED STATES of AMERICA, then a wreath and then ONE CENT in the middle. I think the coin has seen many better days, what grading would you put on this? Is there any sort of value to this coin? Thank you
  14. Azda, no unfortunately the marks are a cross and not a pen mark Fine, but i think deep when looked through a mag-glass?
  15. Here i have an Indian Head One Cent coin dated 1881. Its about the size of a British one pence piece of now. What grading would you give this coin ? Also is there any value to it? cheers in advance
  16. Hello all, This has got me thinking This is an Austrailian half penny George VI 1942 that one particular site i have found, that deals in Austrailian coins state its a rare coin? I may have it all wrong and am hoping that you professionals will be able to tell me if im right or wrong. C/P from that site: H42B.3D Bombay H-Y. I below bust Rare On my coin as shown in photos it seems that i have a similar coin. Or am i missing something here that is very important, which i may add is very likely Cheers in advance
  17. I can not find anything on this and was wondering if anyone here could help identify this coin please? Because it has Victoria on it im unsure if it is a British coin / token or a Colonial coin / token? The front has Victoria (in poor condition) The back has a wreath surrounding coin, at the top centre is the words ONE CENT in the middle is a CROWN 1864 at the bottom is the words NEW BRUNSWICK Any ideas please?
  18. Yes James thats a big help mate Ah you know though, when you dont know anything about a subject, you feel at times questions you ask , to those "in the know" may seem so stupid. But them someone did say at some point in time The only stupid question...was the one that wasnt asked or words to that effect? Im just glad that the questions ive asked here have been answered with respect, no matter how simple or stupid they seem.. cheers all
  19. I have one or two or more, just like that but not in as good as condition of the sellers? This is my first time reading this part of the forum and ive got to say that you people certainly know your stuff I mean some of the information that you have picked up on for eg: and then He means nothing to me but obviously someone within the coin world you are all aware of. Before i started to ramble on i wanted to ask about this: There have been a number of mentions of the 1p and the price of £10,000 Now im not stupid, 44 yrs old got my eyes wide open to many things ..but i just cant get my head around the "Coup" that these people are trying to pull..and it seems to some extent many people are falling for it? Nope i just dont get this...the scams normally jump out at me . Anyway this part of the forum has been great reading..cheers
  20. Silly question time fella's What exactly is W.W and where on the coin can i find it? Appologies for the stupidity of the question but its gone straight over my head?
  21. And there was me thinking oh i havent seen a coin like that yet, it must be silver. Yea i understand that the coin is in very bad condition and not worth anything, i can see this going onto that scrap pile which is getting bigger by the day! RCL35 cheers for the good news on the 1913 cheers
  22. Luckily enough ive only found a small number of Islamic coins...coin collecting and the finding of a noice coin is far too complicated for me without having to add or take-away hundreds of years to get the Real date
  23. Scott & Peckris, Cheers for your valuable knowledge Will keep plundering through them, there does seem to be quiet a lot of Austrailian coins amongst them thanks again fella's
  24. Here we have a coin, silver ( in colour) with the date of 1901. The coin in size i would say is just under a British 10 pence piece approx. On the front i can just make out what looks to be a ladies face, surrounded by stars, underneath is dated 1901 On the reare i think its written around the coin United States of America, i can see the word CENT, in the middle of the rear seems to be a letter V surrounded by a wreath of some sort? Could someone clear this up for me please and as normal i would like to know if there is any value to this coin and what grading would you say this is in? cheers all
  25. Here is an Autrailian sixpence from 1942 George VI. The coin on front has a profile of George VI and lettering ends with D: IND:IMP on rear a kangaroo & emu holding a shield with a scroll underneath with the words ADVANCE AUSTRAILIA underneath is the date 1942. I would like to know if possible the following: What grading what be put on this coin? Is there any value to the coin other than face value? cheers
