  1. For those who haven't seen, the Royal Mint Museum has digitised some of the older annual reports: https://library.royalmintmuseum.org.uk/archive/royal-mint-annual-reports

  2. I like coins but when they are marketed so highly it really gets on my nerves: 1. overcharging an innocent customer 2. when that customer does find out it gives coin collecting a bad name 3. A waste 4. Over-exaggerating the value of a coin It is a shame as well because the London Mint produces some nice coins at reasonable prices (once every couple of years 😂)

  3. Dear colleagues, please tell me on this farthing I over I in the word VICTORIA. Is it a rare variety? Please forgive my poor English

  4. I would do you a set for £22 and still make a decent profit - if ever you buy of the london mint (An almost fraudulant name by the way) just drop the price by 75% and thats the coins true value

  5. Obverse 5 does not always display the flaw in the forehead, however every obverse 5 I have seen has the scalloped top center leaf, whereas I have never seen that top center scalloped leaf on any other obverse than on an obverse 5. I would not necessarily use the die crack above the R as a determinant, however I believe that there is enough other evidence to confirm the obverse as an obverse 6.

  6. Stuff like the above are merely gimmicks designed to pull in certain mindsets and make a handsome profit doing so. Perfectly legal though, so nothing we can do about it. The points made on the cover are statements of fact.

  7. Going through some more duplicates, two 1887s stood out for different reasons. The sixpence for its vivid blue colour. And the half-crown for the quite even toning.

  8. That's absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the heads up.

  9. Excellent. Thanks so much for finding those. I've been doing online searches for the reports for months and not come across these. Google and Edge just dont find them.

  10. Your second coin is real, just dirty. The micro lettering is very clear on your close-up. It wouldn't be like that on a counterfeit.
