Those coins all seem to have greek letters and greek words on them, mine doesn't, it's just the same as the other Edward V11 coins but ends with Rex and not F.D.Ind.Imp.

Yes they do, but not the gold (or bronze). There are a multitude of unofficial coins of this period of the type bagerap posted, with a variety of legends. Most are souvenirs or playthings, some are gilt but most are brass, and mostly of European origin. I am inclined to agree that it is unlikely to be solid gold. It could perhaps be tested at a jewellers , though if base metal it could end up permanently marked.

Not all vasilopita have Greek lettering. Very few in fact. The British Sov. was and still is a popular motif for these coins and they were usually produced with an impossible date such as 1907 on a bust of George V.
