palves Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Hi everyone, Can you please help me ID this coin?I am buying a few portuguese coins from a seller and he has this one that I can to the lot for 10 quid. Thanks in advance Quote
HistoricCoinage Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Looks more like a farthing than a penny. Appears to be an earlier class of Edward I, upon a quick look. Quote
Coinery Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Maybe a halfpenny, it's got a HyB obverse? Could do with a weight and/or size, really? When I first saw it my initial thoughts were class 15 crown, because of the two left-leaning ornaments? It's just missing that second R in the legend though? I think size and weight are needed, to be honest! Edited June 13, 2015 by Coinery 1 Quote
Coinery Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Here's crown 15......but I think that's about it without a bit more info., palves! Quote
palves Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Thanks everyone. My area is Portuguese hammered coins so this is a bit out of my field. Rather than asking the seller for more details I will buy the coin. Will post more info when I get it. PS: in fact is 7 quid (10 euros) even better. Quote
Coinery Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Weight: 1.2gDiameter: 19mmIt'll be a penny, then! Quote
