PhilipC Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Hi, anyone any idea whether this is genuine/what the mintmark on this is?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Charles-l-hammered-silver-shilling-plume-above-shield-very-rare-/151437210248?pt=UK_Coins_BritishHammered_RL&hash=item23425c7288Many thanksPhilip Quote
TomGoodheart Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Genuine? I believe so. Mint mark? Anchor. S.2785 Sharp B3/2 My personal view? Not sure about the yellow patch. A couple of the other coins from this seller seem to have similar. If they are from old sellotape it will come off easily enough with acetone. But if it's something like Araldite ... PhilipC Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Genuine? I believe so. Mint mark? Anchor. Thanks, it is an odd colour and a very odd anchor, quite unlike any others I have seen. Many thanks again.Philip Quote
TomGoodheart Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Mine for comparison: In case it helps. . Quote
Coinery Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Looks orrible/genuine to me! Difficult to call the deposit, especially in light of the swirled obverse left field...very odd? Glue is generally one-sided, so not sure what to think?I'd buy this one at a price, thinking I had to live with the colour...a bonus it it comes away with acetone! Quote
