We were discussing this same subject a few days ago in another thread, saying how much rarer the F-175 seemed than the other mule, F-176. I have one in F condition but hadn't put it on my website as I expected an EF+ example to turn up. I've never found one! Value would have to be a guess, based on the F-176, plus a bit. Do you have one Rob, and in what condition?

I just picked up a load of shi*e and it happened to have an F175 around the fine mark on the obverse, the reverse a bit weaker from ghosting..

Thanks Declan, I didn't think I would make a fortune on it. The only other thing of note was an F164A, but at least there is data on that variety on the LC site.

F164A is much more exciting Rob!

On a personal level, neither are exciting. It isn't something that would grace a collection - it's horrible. i.e. one where I would prefer the attractive red felt

On a more serious note, it has marginally less wear than AC's on the reverse, the obv is similar.

I sold an F for £12 last May!

The best reference for relative scarcity would be VR Court, but this does contradict our own collective thoughts. For 1913 (11,000 coins searched), he has:

1 + A (F-174) 22%

1 + B (F-175) 2.6%

2 + A (F-176) 1.4%

2 + B (F-177) 74%

So I guess around F-176 prices, for which London Coins have a few past sales. Eg. £150 in GEF last year.

Thanks Steve. I'm not going to retire on it, it's just that I don't follow pennies with a great deal of enthusiasm.

I may be interested in the F164A, if its significantly better than my existing example and you're putting it on your site? Though my wallet's rather empty after buying the Moore pennies this week!

Well done with the F164A! These are a lot rarer.

I'll probably put that into LC next time as somebody would want it. At around 3p it hasn't broken the bank, so no rush to cover costs..

You should do well in LC, I would say £300 minimum, which is 10,000% profit!
