Mr_Stephen Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Hello! Couldn't turn down this little chap for £6 t'other day. The seller told me it was a Henry V and I have no reason to disbelieve him, but other than an annalet by the crown, a possible trefoil on the neck and a mint of York, I've not really got any way of identifying it myself due to the wearing away of the obverse text. Is anyone able to confirm it's a Henry V and, if so, what sort? Many thanks! Quote
Mr_Stephen Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Just noticed the somewhat dubious quality of the photo. This is the first time I've tried to take one with my new-fangled phone. Might have to stick with the old fashioned camera in future! Quote
HistoricCoinage Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 It certainly looks like Henry V. It's a York penny and it's got an annulet by the crown, suggesting Class D. Any chance of an obverse image taken with your camera? Quote
Mr_Stephen Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Hopefully this will look a little better! It certainly looks like Henry V. It's a York penny and it's got an annulet by the crown, suggesting Class D. Any chance of an obverse image taken with your camera? Quote
HistoricCoinage Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 It's York Class C. Mullet to left of crown and broken annulet to the right. Spink 1785.Speaking of Spink, has the postman brought anything nice yet? Quote
Mr_Stephen Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Thank you very much! And with regards to the Spink, am I to assume the 'parcel waiting' card heralds a wonderful arrival? Quote
Peter Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 We are so nice...or at least Clive is. I've sent at least 4 parcels out (books, coins, mini microscopes etc)and they have all buggered off. Quote

You might want to pick it up before Peter pilfers it from the delivery office to replace one of his lost'uns. Quote

I've got enough Spinks (and Seabys) that I don't need a ladder to clean the upstairs windows. Quote
