Peckris Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Wish all silver came out the river in this condition. It's actually a halfcrown, but did it really come from a river? That's amazing. Quote
Danelaw Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Of course it's a half a crown. Thanks for that. Yep, straight from the Thames in central London. Quote
Peter Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 You mudlarks You are getting some nice history back.Keep it up.Especially the tin farthings which seem to love the Thames mud.I worked on the Limehouse link in the early 90's and cofferdams were made and the amount of clay pipes and coins/artifacts was amazing.Got a few bits including Limehoue pottery. Not to mention a couple of cars in Limehouse basin with drivers attached. Danelaw Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Talking of pipes. My latest, Alley Sloper...often slopes down alley's when there is work to be done. Given away in the 1840's with one of the first comics. The hat is the bowl and the neck is the pipe. Quote
