Guest a19941 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) Hey all, this is my first post here! A while ago, my grandfather gave me a box full of old coins, and I found this coin in it, I have no Idea what it is :/ The date at the bottom is barely visiable, it wont be viewable in the photo but it's either 1886/1888/1986/1988 or 1786/1788. All help will be apreciated! Cheers the back has nothing on what so ever :/ Edited May 7, 2011 by a19941 Quote
argentumandcoins Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 It's now a flat disc, but it was once a shilling of George IV, probably 1826 from what you can make out of the numbers. Quote
Hussulo Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Unfortunately only worth silver value in that condition, however a coin with a lot of character. Its definitely seen a lot of use and handling. Probably been kept as a pocket piece by someone, perhaps even your grandfather. Quote
