Hi,

I don't know much about old coins but the wife just found this while gardening.

Very thin, hammered?

Cross on one side and church on another. No face or profile.

It has obvious similarities to a medieval hammered penny, but it's clearly not a monarch coin, probably not even English. At an educated guess it could be a Continental 'jeton' or possibly a Crusader piece. The cross is a 'short cross' type, with characteristic serifs you don't see on English pennies.
