1937 penny 1933 florin

hi i wonder if you could offer me some advice

ive found four coins two of which are old

a 1937 penny george the vi

and a 1933 florin george v

any ideas of their rough value?

they are both quite clean i think going by pictures ive seen on various websites

dont know if they are in fine condition but they arent a mess either

thanks for any help totally clueless about this

theres a 1967 half crown too an american silver dollar from 1972

Well it doesn't really matter how clean they are, although that obviously plays a part, it matters more how worn the coins are. If you could either attach pictures (register first) or find picture hosting on the web, we can accurately grade them for you.

If we take the condition of them as very fine, the penny is worth around 50p and the florin around £4. The half crown, if in the same condition won't be worth much as it is very common. I'm not an American man myself so you'll have to wait until a yank arrives or somebody with a copy of Krause (World coin catalogue) gets here.

The 1937 penny will be worth about 50p - £1 at the most

The 1933 florin will be worth about £2 - £15

The 1967 half crown will be worth about 50p at the most.

I can't tell you much about the American one, i don't know much about them, sorry.

We will need pictures or proper grades to value them properly though

take photos now, well they are all in really good condition i didnt realise it ment how worn they were

i wish the penny had been the year of the florin rofl ah well

do you have any idea if they will ever increase in value? or would i be as well selling them now

Have you noticed that there has been an increase of people seeking valuations. They seem to trust us more than 'coin people' or maybe it's the fact that Chris is always at the top of coin related google searches...........

Yes they will increase in value but insignificantly. It's only the higher grade ones that really benefit from the price rises.

Value isn't important IMHO. If you like the coins, keep them for that. If you don't like them, then you might as well sell them.

i think my hosting wont work but here goes

i only asked her cause my mother saw a episode of antiques roadshow at 3pm where they found someone with a 1933 penny

and she was like ooh i have a 1933 penny but it wasnt , it went for £25000! so she got a bit excited and wanted instant knowladge of what they were worth shes bored now that she knows there not worth anything

and im left with the responcibility of finding out for next time she remembers about them lol

the dollar seems to be valuable YEY

but its not got packaging like the americans seem to want

its silver on both sides... i would have thought that was the way it was ment to be but theres loads on ebay for a lot the same as it in packages in same condition

it was someone who was in america in 1972 got it from a bank and put it away for when they got home aparently

Wow, the antiques roadshow managed to show a 1933 penny, it must have been the pattern if it only sold for £25,000, the real one would sell for much more.
